Bubble Gum strain
Strain Description
Legendary for its sweet smell and very euphoric effect and winning more than 13 awards in cannabis competitions, Bubble Gum weed has few branches, sometimes grows in height, and bears compact heads covered with crystals. The seedlings produce very similar plants. It is the only pure variety (so not an F1 hybrid) in the Serious range. Bubble Gum grown outdoors in Spain has won numerous awards, including the FIRST PRIZE Outdoor at the Spannabis Champions Cup in December 2005.
Genetics:
Originally, Bubble Gum strain was developed by growers in Indiana, USA. From there, the genetics moved to New England and finally to the Netherlands. It took many generations to finally produce this stable Bubble Gum.
The only pure variety (not an F1 hybrid) on the Serious Seeds menu.
Taste and Aroma:
Bubble Gum strain weed is recognizable with its characteristic sweet smell (really resembling a typical chewing gum taste). These aromas linger in the mouth and will satisfy the most delicate palates.
Its Cultivation:
Bubble Gum strain seeds will delight all amateur/beginner growers as well as the most experienced, thanks to a simple-to-grow genetics! You will be delighted to see long, crystallized trichome buds forming throughout its cultivation.
The stabilized Bubble Gum strain produces plants with few branches, but which soar during the stretch, be careful in small growing spaces.
It’s a strong and beautiful plant that grows a heavy stem, you never need to tie up big buds. The early stages of seedlings can be tender and you need to take a little care at this stage. It’s important not to let them be overrun by neighboring plants that can grow faster at the beginning. Once about 2 weeks old, the Bubble Gums will start to pick up speed and grow as fast as other plants. This growth delay can be explained by the fact that BG is an inbred strain and therefore does not have this hybrid vigor effect (faster and stronger growth) of F1 hybrids.
Its effects:
Bubble Gum strain weed fundamentally has a strong effect on the physique and a very pleasant euphoric side! Its long-lasting relaxing properties make it a good partner to unwind after a good day’s work.
In a few numbers:
Flowering period: 53 to 63 days or 8 to 9 weeks
harvest potential: between: 300-450G/M²
In a few words:
Serious Seeds’ Bubble Gum strain is a terpene legend! It will produce shiny and fragrant buds!
The combination of a high THC content and an intoxicating flavor are the original trademarks of this famous strain.
Apart from the Stretch period, there are no difficulties in growing Bubble Gum strain
Additional Information:
-Bubble Gum strain seeds grown outdoors in Spain have won numerous awards (13 in total), including the first Outdoor Prize of the Spannabis Champions Cup in December 2005.
-Originally, Bubble Gum weed was developed by growers in Indiana, USA. From there, the genetics moved to New England and finally to the Netherlands.
-Like several of the varieties in the Serious Seeds seed catalog, Bubble Gum is the origin of many crosses.
A bit of history:
There are several varieties in the world of cannabis genetics whose origin and subsequent selection process are not clear. Growers are particularly confused when a certain variety is offered under the same name by two or more seed banks: who has the original, who has the copies? The Bubblegum variety is a controversial variety, with at least two seed banks offering their own versions, in this case: Serious Seeds and T.H. Seeds (both residing in Amsterdam), not to mention all those bad copies. So, we decided to trace the true roots of Bubble Gum.
-The two breeders mentioned above ended up with two corresponding versions of the breeding history of Bubble Gum, giving good reasons for the existence of two high-quality Bubble Gum strains: the original seeds were developed by a grower in Indiana (USA) during the 80s. In 1993, this person gave three very different female Bubble Gum plants to Adam of T.H. but also to Simon and Tony (the two separated shortly after, with Simon founding Serious Seeds and Tony Sagarmatha Seeds) of Cerebral Seeds.
-Bubble Gum therefore arrived in the Netherlands in the hands of three breeders. And from that moment, different new chapters were written in the breeding history of Bubble Gum, its development somehow branched out. Three breeders, three modes of selection: These seed masters were going to make their own special selection from the three different genetic types they had received. Simon reports: “As far as I know, T.H. Seeds worked more with one of these 3 plants than I did”. This is why Adam (the BG from T.H. Seeds will be another story…) considers his Bubble Gum as “mainly indica”, while Simon places his version in the “Mostly Sativa” category. He focused his research on two of the three lineages, ultimately deciding on a type that would become his Bubble Gum seed variety.
It took Simon five generations to reach the desired breeding result, then officially registering it under the name “Bubble Gum”.
